Mario 64 Conspiracies

A page all about mario 64 conspiracies.
(literally the sm64 iceberg)

L is real 2401

Way, way, way back even when the first game was released,
people thought Luigi was unlockable in Super Mario 64,
and it all came from the statue in the backyard of the
castle, with a statue of a star with a sign engraved
in the statue, which says "Eternal Star" but people
think it says other things, like "L is real 2401" and
that made people think Luigi is in-game. some people
think the "2401" part predicted 'Paper Mario's release,
(even though it released on 2/5/01), but going even later
in its history, someone on Twitter found the data for Luigi
and people were able to hack in Luigi. why am I talking about
this? because it is said the sprite for Luigi was found EXACTLY
24 Years and 1 Month after the release of Super Mario 64. what
a coincidence.

The Wario Apparition

originating from E3 1996 in Nintendo's panel:
"Focused on fun", the head of Wario would float
in the entrance of Dire, Dire Docks (in sm64)
and said these lines: "Ptewey! oh, you think this
is-a fun? Wario show you fun!" then proceeded to
show a version of the 1972 game "pong" in front,
with his iconic laugh. going forward about 20-30 years,
someone on Twitter posted a picture of Mario being chased
by the Wario head, repeating the phrase:
"every copy of super Mario 64 is personalized" in the tweet.
it then was passed down as a "creepypasta". if you look up
"the Wario Apparition" you will see more info on this topic.

1995/07/29 Build

this was a build used in the E3 1995
to show off Super Mario 64 for the Ultra 64
(what the n64 was called at the time) and
people say this build is said to be "demonic"
when it isn't. some people say the build has all
the personalization in it, and some people say they
have the build and record it on youtube when the build
has still yet to be found.

Bugged Boo Laugh

in BBH, there is a chance that when you
enter the house, there is a chance you will
hear a lowered-pitch boo laugh. it is scary, but
there's nothing much else to talk about.

DELICIOUS CAKE

at the end of the game, some text was supposed to
appear at the end screen, saying: "DELICIOUS CAKE".
it is said that the text would show there as an
"alternate ending", but I think it was supposed to
show at the end *not* as an alternate ending, but just
as some text to describe the cake.

Yoshi Commits Suicide

when you collect all 120 stars in the game and go on top
of the castle roof, Yoshi can be found. talking to him will
have a letter from the Nintendo team thanking you for playing
the game. Yoshi will then proceed to give Mario 99 lives, then
will jump off the roof into the waterfall next to the castle. It's
said that him jumping off the castle is him committing suicide. dark.

The Big Dud

when you defeat king bomb-omb in BBB, one of the pink
bomb-ombs will tell you that king bomb-omb is now "the
big dud". and in the second and every other star after
star one, at the bottom of the mountain where there is
a sorta-half pipe and there are 2 black balls rolling,
there is now three. its pretty dark to think about
this at times.

WDW Negative Emotional Aura

there are times where you play SM64, and when you reach
Wet Dry World, you just want to stop playing. I
think its because how the world feels so cramped
together, it feels claustrophobic. don't get me wrong,
its a fun course to play at times. but it just gives
that wierd feeling that makes you not want to play
anymore.

Peaches' Castle Paranoia

now, this is a experience i have playing SM64. when
i would get to the hallway that leads out to the
backyard of peaches castle, i always try to not
see the boo thats in the hallway, that would give
me chills running down my spine. it felt like i
being watched 24/7. not by lakitu, but someone.
an entity that i can not see, yet it sees me,
and watches me. thinking about this while i
play sm64 makes me not want to play anymore, like
the negative emotional aura in WDW.

Super Mario 64 2/Super Mario 128

when super mario released, people wanted a sequel.
so, nintendo responded. they said they were going
to make a Super Mario 64 2. it was going to be
planned for the N64DD, but because of the failure
of the N64DD, it was cancelled.
going forward a few years, nintendo said they
were making a NEW SM64 Sequel, called
Super Mario 128, in 2000. it was planned for
release on the Gamecube, but nintendo revealed
it would be released on the wii, after the wii was
about to be launched. it was soon forgotten about
by nintendo until someone asked if sm128 will ever
be released. they said: "it already has, you saw
it in Super Mario Sunshine". now, it is true that
super mario 128 Evolved into Super Mario Sunshine,
it also evolved into pikmin. beta textures for
mario in pikmin have been found, in the pictures
below.

Peach is trapped in the walls

if you look at the castle from the outside, you can see
that there is a stained glass window of peach.
that might not be suspicious at first, but going
inside peaches castle, you can see that the stained
glass there is different from the one outside,
*and* there is a space between the glass outside
and inside. many people speculate that peach is
trapped inside that space.

"please walk quietly in the hallway."

this strange text that can be found in
one of the dialogs for the signs may
suggest that this castle is a public place,
and the paintings everywhere add to that.
it makes sense because this is a castle,
and you wouldn't want people disturbing you when
you walk, so i dont know why this is here.

Fake Windows/blocked rooms

so, looking outside the castle again, you
can find windows around it, but inside, there
are none. this makes people speculate that
there are more rooms than what are avaible to
you. given that there is no furniture here at all,
and there is just paintings, it suggests that
there are blocked rooms that are not reachable.

painting in the background

in the ending card of super mario 64, you can
see a painting of a person in the background
behind the cake. some people think it looks
like mario, but im not sure.

"Dont become his lunch"

in the dialog of a sign before you get to ride
dorie, it says in the last sentence:
"don't become his lunch." this suggests
that dorie was once able to eat you in the
game, but I think its just the translators
having some fun with the dialogs.

2nd controller controlling the camera.

when the credits are playing, if a 2nd controller
is plugged in, you can control the camera
in the sequence.

Every Copy of Super Mario 64 is Personalized.

you heard me talk about this in earlier parts,
time to talk about it now.
some people think that every copy of Super Mario
64 is Personalized. have you ever felt as something
was off when you were playing the game? thats because
the game is personalized for them. the game uses heavy
amounts of AI that makes it where you enjoy the game,
by reading your thoughts. what else do i talk about
for this.
